Anonymous chat — talk to strangers without signing up
OmeVidChat is anonymous random chat: no account, no email, no profile. Press Start and you're talking to a random stranger on video and text — they only know what you choose to show. It's an Omegle-style anonymous chat, and below we explain plainly what is and isn't kept.
Start an anonymous chat →What "anonymous" means here
There's nothing to sign up for. You don't enter a name, an email, or a phone number; you don't make a profile or pick a username. You choose a gender and an age range so the matchmaker can do its job, tick the 18+ box, and press Start. The stranger you're matched with sees your camera, hears your mic, and reads what you type — and that's all they get. It's the same anonymity Omegle was known for; OmeVidChat keeps it (see the Omegle alternative page).
Anonymous to other users — but here's what's logged
We won't pretend a "talk to strangers on video" site can be a no-logs black box — that's how the original Omegle ended up in court. Being straight with you: for safety, abuse-handling, and legal compliance, the site keeps limited moderation records — periodic still screenshots from cameras and a log of chat messages, stored together with the sender's IP address for a short retention window — and connection metadata like IP and timestamps. Those records exist to investigate abuse and respond to law enforcement when required by law; they aren't a public profile and they aren't shared with the people you chat with. The specifics (what, why, how long) are in the Terms & Safety rules — read them. So: anonymous to other users, accountable to moderators. That trade-off is what keeps the chat usable.
How to chat anonymously
- Open omevidchat.com in any modern browser — no account needed.
- Allow your camera and microphone (both required).
- Pick gender, age range, and who you want to talk to.
- Confirm you're 18+ and accept the Terms.
- Press Start — anonymous random chat with a stranger.
- New stranger to skip, Stop to leave, ⚠ Report to flag someone.
Staying anonymous: it's mostly on you
- Don't reveal identifying info — no real name, address, school/workplace, phone, email, or socials.
- Watch your background — mail with your address, a school crest, the view out the window, your reflection.
- Assume you can be screenshotted or recorded — by the other person, on any platform. Act accordingly.
- Be wary of "let's move to another app" — that's a classic way to de-anonymize and scam you.
- Report bad behavior — the ⚠ Report button works. More: video chat safety tips.
FAQ: anonymous chat
- Is it really anonymous?
- To other users, yes — no account, no profile, they only see what you show. The site itself keeps limited moderation records (with IP) for safety/legal reasons, as the Terms explain. It's not a "no-logs" service, and we don't claim to be.
- Do I need an email or phone number?
- No. Nothing. Press Start and chat.
- Can someone find me from this?
- Not from what the platform exposes to other users. The risk is what you reveal on camera or in text — so don't reveal it.
- Is anonymous chat on OmeVidChat free?
- Yes — completely free, no account.
